Hats By Maor Zabar, inspired by Roladin’s new doughnut collection.

Amid the glitz of Canada-Israel Fashion Week Tel Aviv 2025, the runway took a particularly youthful turn with the Upcoming Designers showcase, an evocative pairing of emerging Israeli visionaries alongside the first-ever hat collection in Israel by international milliner Maor Zabar, inspired by Roladin’s new doughnut collection.

The evening opened with the fresh voices of Israeli designers redefining what the next generation means in the local fashion vocabulary: bold silhouettes, disruptive textures, and a quiet confidence that speaks louder than branding. Among the models walking the line was Mia Regev, a survivor of Hamas captivity, cheered on by her mother and partner, a heartfelt scene amid the flash of cameras and spotlights.

Then, in a theatrical flourish, Maor Zabar’s collection made its Israeli runway debut not as an accessory afterthought, but as the show’s defining statement. His couture hats, each meticulously handcrafted in Tel Aviv, were reimagined through a confectionery lens: doughnuts, jam-filled pastries, and sugar-glazed forms became sculptural headpieces, merging pop culture playfulness with haute couture precision. The collaboration with Roladin elevated the concept, fashion meeting patisserie theatre in a celebration of creative excess and technical finesse.

The finale belonged to social media star Dian Schwartz, who closed the show in a stunning bridal gown crowned with a one-of-a-kind Zabar headpiece inspired by Roladin’s iconic jelly-filled doughnut. The moment captured the evening’s essence, a seamless blend of artistry, narrative, and cultural whimsy, where fashion’s sweetness meets its sharp edge.

Behind the scenes, the event reflected Tel Aviv’s thriving fashion pulse, a crossroads of daring imagination and heritage craftsmanship, proving once again that Israeli fashion doesn’t merely follow global trends, it sets its own rhythm, bold, playful, and unapologetically expressive.
