Creative director Mike Amiri established his eponymous label in 2013, drawing upon the grunge and punk subcultures that shaped his youth. AMIRI’s designs lend textural intricacy to easy tailoring and in consistent with the brand’s DNA of an effortless LA cool, AMIRI’s SS22 presents its first standalone womenswear collection that draws a contemporary vision of empowerment that transcends gender, menswear inspires womenswear and vice versa.
The silhouette is soft, relaxing with a Californian sense of ease; cut with broad shoulders before narrowing through the body and pooling towards the ground in generous proportions. Natural tones fill the color palette, borrowed from the vivid landscapes of AMIRI’s native Los Angeles: black, alabaster, chocolate brown, heather grey, and indigo assemble across fabrics that combine to create innovative hybrid textures: cashmere, leather, wool, denim, down, jersey, bouclé, and French terry.
With this collection, the archetypal AMIRI woman is introduced: empowered and at ease, with total clarity of purpose.
