Sissa Germann, co-founder of Drops de Cor, is a global leader in personal color analysis whose work blends artistry, technical expertise, and a deep spiritual sensibility. With a background in fashion design and years of international experience, she developed the “12 Extended Seasons” method, a refined approach that considers both the science of color and its emotional, energetic impact.
At the heart of her work lies Color Analysis, the art and science of identifying the shades and tones that harmonize with an individual’s natural coloring. Using calibrated drapes, trained observation, and a nuanced understanding of undertones, depth, and contrast, Sissa maps out a personal palette that enhances natural beauty without overpowering it. Yet her method goes far beyond surface aesthetics: she interprets color as a living energy, a silent language that interacts with our mood, presence, and even life path. By aligning external appearance with inner frequency, she helps clients project authenticity, confidence, and emotional harmony.
Through her workshops, certification programs, and visually captivating Instagram @dropsdecor_world, Sissa shares seasonal palettes, expert comparisons, and guidance that is as inspiring as it is educational. Drops de Cor has grown into an international reference point in modern color consulting, empowering people to inhabit their personal spectrum fully, confidently, and with joy.
- How did your journey with color begin? Was there a defining moment or experience that drew you to this field? Fashion was always a topic of conversation in my home. I lived in different countries and was always surrounded by inspiring influences, like a super stylish, fashion-forward mother and a visionary, entrepreneurial father. All of that kept me in constant motion, and I truly believe fashion runs in my blood. I studied Fashion Design and began by designing handbags. Later, I launched my own children’s clothing line. Around the age of 35, I went through a major personal transformation, and it was through that process that I began to see a clearer connection between fashion and color. That’s when I decided to help people feel more beautiful and confident through color. Realizing that this passion of mine could have such a positive impact on someone else’s life was truly surprising! Seeing how changing a hair color, a makeup tone, or revamping a wardrobe could actually improve someone’s mood simply by using colors that resonate with their palette made me understand my life’s purpose and fully commit to this vibrant, colorful path.
- You’ve created a very distinctive methodology. What makes Drops de Cor different from other color analysis programs? Our methodology was born from a modern, inclusive, and deeply empathetic view that is closely connected to feminine self-esteem. Unlike the traditional approaches developed in the 1970s, the Drops de Cor method has Brazilian identity at its core. In Brazil, diversity is the rule, not the exception. Inspired by the mix of skin tones, cultures, and aesthetics that define my country, I created an approach that embraces, adapts to, and uplifts every ethnicity, complexion, and individual trait. We offer a truly inclusive personal color analysis, something still quite rare on a global scale.
- Color carries both emotional and psychological impact. How do you use color to help people feel more connected to themselves? For me, color is much more than a technique; it’s a tool for healing, revelation, and empowerment. In every session, my first priority is to deeply connect with my client through active listening and by creating a warm, welcoming environment. Together, we share stories and build a space for meaningful exchange. I believe every consultant has a bit of therapist within them! Once that emotional connection is in place, I dive into the essence of each person using the psychology of color and observation of their unique personality. My goal is to reveal the most powerful aspects of their beauty. I draw on my own journey to inspire them through a process of self-reconnection and confidence-building. Most importantly, I help them recognize the beauty and strength they already carry, knowing that each person is one of a kind.
- Your approach blends fashion, makeup, and color theory. How do these elements work together to empower your clients? When we conduct a color analysis, we always look at beauty as a whole. Elements such as contrast level, depth, intensity, and skin undertone guide us toward the best choices for each individual. I don’t just point out what works; I teach my clients how to use this knowledge. We apply it to clothing, accessories, makeup, color combinations, and more. I want them to feel confident when shopping or when considering a bold change like a new hair color. When I place a client in front of the mirror, my aim is not just for them to see themselves but to recognize themselves and learn to truly admire what they see. Empowerment comes from that recognition. It’s about awakening confidence and helping them uncover new versions of themselves.
- What are the most common misconceptions people have about color analysis? Among professionals, I’ve seen a growing trend of shallow, impersonal, and poorly executed sessions. Many of the clients I see today have already gone through a color analysis and are coming to me for a second opinion, often because something didn’t feel right. And unfortunately, in many cases, I end up changing their palette. This usually happens because the consultant lacked training, skipped critical steps in the diagnostic process, or worst of all, didn’t treat the service with care and commitment, simply handing out a random palette. From the client’s perspective, a common misconception is the fear of becoming “restricted” by a palette or being “forbidden” from wearing certain colors. Who hasn’t heard someone say, “I’m not doing a color analysis because they’ll ban me from wearing black”? Quite the opposite, I believe our job is to teach people how to bend the rules of their palette. Based on their preferences, personality, and natural features, we show them how to adapt and balance colors to wear whatever they love. That’s why the consultation must be educational, customized, and above all, enchanting.
- In your opinion, how does understanding one’s color palette affect their confidence or sense of identity? Without a doubt, discovering your color palette goes far beyond aesthetics. It’s a journey of self-awareness and reconnection with your essence. When someone sees themselves illuminated by the right colors, those that highlight their expression and reflect their personality, something powerful happens: their confidence blooms. They begin to look at themselves with admiration, and that transforms how they show up in the world. More than just a visual outcome, color analysis invites us to embrace a new, more authentic, and inclusive definition of beauty. It becomes a tool for freedom, acceptance, and self-expression. And when we feel connected to who we truly are, we naturally inspire others to do the same.
- You’ve built a beautiful community around Drops de Cor. What values guide the way you connect with your audience and students? Dedication, active listening, attention to detail, and respect, I believe these are the pillars that shape the way we connect with our audience and students. To that, we add a strong dose of creativity, curiosity, and Brazilian flair. We’re constantly evolving, following trends, creating new tools, and finding fresh ways to surprise and deliver real value to the image consulting industry. Entrepreneurship is not easy, but seeing the community we’ve built around Drops de Cor makes it incredibly rewarding, whether through heartfelt feedback on a product launch, unexpected invitations and collaborations, or the pride of having trained over 5,000 students around the world. That’s what fuels our constant growth. This close and affectionate bond we’ve developed with our community is a direct result of the care we pour into every detail, from the creation of our over 150 original products to the warm, human-centered support we provide daily, and the countless hours we dedicate to producing meaningful content for our channels. That care is what creates lasting, genuine connections.
- What advice would you give someone who wants to bring more harmony, color, and intention into their wardrobe or personal style? Above all, my advice would be: listen to yourself. Observe who you are today, what you want to express to the world, and what messages you want to send. Bringing more harmony, color, and intention into your style starts with this inner reflection, and personal color analysis can be a beautiful guide in that journey. When we understand which colors resonate with our essence, our wardrobe becomes less about accumulation and more about intentional, creative choices. Visual harmony boosts self-esteem. Color brings energy, identity, and presence. And intention ties it all together into something uniquely yours. Start small and be kind to yourself. Try a bold accessory, a new combination, or a lipstick outside your comfort zone. A practical tip: take advantage of vacation time when you’re away from your usual social circles to experiment with new looks. Most of the time, a small change in the mirror sparks a big transformation inside.
- There seems to be a deep spiritual dimension to your work. How does spirituality intertwine with your color analysis practice and the way you connect with your clients? Absolutely, there is! I’m deeply connected to energy and presence. In our spaces in São Paulo and Porto Alegre, where I host in-person sessions, there are always small spiritual elements within reach, like oracle decks, incense, a lit candle, or soft music playing. These subtle touches help me create, from the very beginning, an atmosphere of warmth and connection. To me, color analysis is a technical practice, yes, but also an intuitive, sensitive, almost holistic one. There’s a quiet needed to truly hear what the skin is telling us, and a deep respect for each client’s pace and process. That’s why I believe looking at someone through the lens of color is also a spiritual act; it involves presence, attention, and intention. Each session is unique, and often what emerges in the mirror is more than just a palette; it’s a reunion with one’s light. I believe spirituality lives in those moments of care, of deep seeing, and of shared purpose.
- It feels like Drops de Cor is more than just a business; it’s a calling. When did you first realize this was something beyond a regular job, and what gave you the inner confirmation to pursue this path? I think the moment I truly realized that Drops de Cor was more than just a business was when I understood deep down that my purpose is to restore self-esteem in those who feel lost or disconnected from themselves. Doing this through color, which has always been my passion, made the experience even more powerful. I see beauty in a very unique way. I have a keen eye for style, for design, for detail. And over the years, I’ve come to realize that I also have a very particular way of learning and teaching. When I began to share this with others, I saw the real impact it had on their lives. That was the moment of confirmation when I knew this was the path. Drops de Cor was born from that calling. It carries my soul, my vision, my voice. And that’s why it keeps growing and transforming just like I do.
