Gabriel Dishaw is an American artist who uses “junk” to create his work. Most of his art comes from old typewriters, calculators, computers and/or other old electronics that he ultimately transforms into exquisite sculptures. Dishaws art is particularly unique because he is able to turn garbage into grandeur like we see with his sneaker series below.
One of Dishaws main missions is to find environmentally friendly and creative ways to re-purpose electronic waste and create a dialogue surrounding the problematic ways that large metal materials and old electronics are disposed of at present. Through his artwork, Dishaw is taking what most would consider landfill, and revamping it to be more environmentally friendly and help bring more eccentric beauty into the world.
